White stoneware drinking vessels wood fired in a Bourry Box train kiln over two days. Australian hardwood is the main fuel source and the kiln is also fed from the side with split fence palings, smaller branches and pine packing wood. An early reduction phase when the kiln is starved of oxygen has given the hand brushed carbon trap Shino glaze on these beakers a grey smoky appearance. Variations of heat, flame and ash during the firing have given the exposed clay flashing marks.
